New 2020 CLA is here. Looks pretty good, also pretty expensive though. This one stickers at 48,500 but has almost every option pretty much. The color scheme reminds me a lot of the 2000 S4 my dad had when I was in high school, Im a really big fan of it . Pretty big fan of yellow in general, I’m always looking for a cheap manual yellow SLK and one of my dream cars someday is to own a solar beam yellow GT.
What do you guys think?

Not a yellow car or black wheel fan, but the new CLA looks loads better than the first gen.
Depending on the claustrophobia, I might still prefer a regular A though.

I don’t like it in yellow, but in general it’s a big improvement on the previous generation. Hopefully the interior is too.

Now that the A-class sedan is available in the US, what is the point of the CLA?

I like it a lot better than the previous gen, but not in that particular colour.

Don’t love that particular yellow 100% but I’d definitely take it over silver. Once had a yellow and black MINI which I miss terribly.
I’m no t even a Mercedes guy but I’m really liking their sedans lately.

The training on it basically identified it as people who are more into style and a distinctive lifestyle lol.

I love silver on most Mercedes tbh. The colors I dont care for are the firehouse reds, white, black and grey

It looks really good, but that’s S3 money and I know which one I’d rather have, and it’s the Golf R

Especially because I don't really like the "coupe" styling, I prefer more traditional sedans, I'd take a normal a class all day over that.

Assuming the A35 comes in at a competitive price with the S3 though I’d be taking the 35. I really am a fan of the new A class, its a very nice car despite the small size, and it still has a huge boot.
This CLA is super expensive, most of them will prbably come in a lot lower

Me too. Im a big fan of the A class. I’ve had two couple day loans of A classes, and its a very nice car despite being smaller.

The A definitely feels a lot more spacious

I mean, in profile they actually look very similar, with a coupe-like roofline. The CLA’s roof is just a tiny littie bit more cut—to the untrained eye they would look identical.
To me, the biggest differentiator is the CLA’s sleeker taillamp style, and that is quite sad.

I like some headroom and visibility.

Agreed. If I had the choice between the two Id definitely be in an A and use the leftovers on some mods haha.
Same with how I’d always rather have a similar spec E over the CLS. If I’m getting a coupe its gonna only have two doors lol, otherwise give me the sedan
